Social media have been growing in influence. They shape the way many people communicate, gather information, and form opinions. With billions of users engaging daily, social media has transformed from a simple communication tool into a powerful driver of public conversation, business growth, and social change. Sensing this, at Infinity Business Web we recently put a lot of effort into ramping up the sophistication of our social media marketing. To add to its influence, social media platforms are now the source of much of the information drawn by AI-assisted search engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, etc. The latest that just broke last week is that Google Business Profiles are now getting on the bandwagon.

Google is testing a new social media updates carousel that can pull your latest social posts directly onto your Google Business Profile. This is a big signal that social media is becoming more important for local SEO.

To give your posts a chance of showing up, here’s what we will do for you:

  • Connect your social profiles to your Google Business Profile
  • Stay active and post consistently

And a tip for AI visibility:  Create posts with information about your products and services.

Breaking this down a bit more:

  • When you post consistently on social media, Google is more likely to surface that content in places like your Business Profile or search results. Three posts a week is considered a minimum.
  • And when your posts clearly explain your expertise, services, and products, artificial intelligence tools like Chat GPT and Gemini can better understand what your business does.

So instead of only seeing that you’re active online with your social media, Google and AI can actually connect your business to specific searches and recommendations.
Example:

If a business regularly posts about:

  • New products or services
  • Recent developments in its industry
  • Customer experiences

posts about:

  • dental implants
  • Invisalign
  • emergency dental care
  • location
  • same-day crowns

AI systems have more context about what that business specializes in.
That makes it easier for Google or AI search tools to:

  • match the business to relevant searches
  • recommend the business to users
  • surface the business in AI-generated answers

You’re basically feeding Google and AI more structured signals about your business through your social content.
If you are currently a Local SEO client and a Social Media client, we are taking these steps, however, we still recommend you consider the GEO package. If you want to learn more about new optimizing for AI searches, give us a call.
